Milford Daily News - 10/23/09

BELLINGHAM 1, ASHLAND 1: Freshman Olivia Norton scored her first career goal off an assist from senior co-captain Kelsey Ryan as Bellingham earned a draw with host Ashland in Tri-Valley League action. Senior co-captain Kayla Kelly made nine saves for the Blackhawks (5-9-2, 3-8-2 TVL).

MEDWAY 1, BELLINGHAM 1: Senior goalie Kayla Kelly recorded 16 saves as host Bellingham tied with Tri-Valley League opponent Medway.

Junior forward Alicia Russell tallied for the Blackhawks (5-8-1), who got a strong game from senior defender Laura Norton. Junior Taylor Hulitzky scored for Medway (4-2-5).

BELLINGHAM 3, ASHLAND 0: Senior captain Kelsey Ryan scored two goals and goalie Kayla Kelly made 16 saves for the shutout as Bellingham defeated visiting Ashland in a Tri-Valley League match.

Ryan scored in the first half to give Bellingham (4-3, 3-3 TVL) a 1-0 lead at the break. Ryan and Kayla Goldstein tallied in the second half and Karianne Malloy notched and assist and was an offensive leader the Blackhawks.

Goalie Evyn Whiteley made 10 saves for Ashland (1-5-2).

BELLINGHAM 5, WESTWOOD 2: Bellingham senior center-midfielder Kesley Ryan scored two goals and had two assists as the host Blackhawks topped Tri-Valley League opponent Westwood.

Senior captain goalie Kayla Kelly had eight saves, and senior sweeper Laura Norton had a great defensive game for Bellingham (3-1, 2-1 TVL).

BELLINGHAM 3, HOLLISTON 0: Cassandra Thibault scored the eventual game-winning goal off an assist from Kelsey Ryan as Bellingham blanked visiting Holliston in Tri-Valley League action.

Cassandra Wante and Alicia Russell also scored while Mackenzie Leahy and Jen Ryan had assists for the Blackhawks (2-1, 1-1 TVL). Goaltender Kayla Kelly made ten saves for Bellingham while the Panthers drop to 0-1-1.

BELLINGHAM 2, KING PHILIP 0: Senior Kelsey Ryan and junior Alicia Russell each potted a goal as visiting Bellingham opened its season with a non-league shutout of King Philip.

Kayla Goldstein and Maggie Munnelly each notched an assist, and goalie Kayla Kelly made 11 saves for the shutout for Bellingham.
